"Talk" to friends here! Janelle, too!

Click on "comments" section & type comments just like we did at school. If you forgot your password, call a friend. You would never want to have the password posted for the world to see. Janelle wants to keep in touch with us!  Is that awesome, or what!? I know many of you missed her-as did I. Now, you have your own space to "chat" with everyone.   The nice thing is that you can leave your message/comment when you are able to get online, and your friends can leave a message when they're online. Don't you love technology? Remember, you can sign up for computer time at the library, too! That is really cool!

  • click on links on right. Keep updated on shuttle Endeavor launch (6 more to go)
  • 7/16 and 7/20 Moon Landing launch and LANDING anniversary http://www.wechoosethemoon.org
  • Also, send your name to Mars. Click on links and learn!

Did everyone/anyone plant their seeds? How's your garden grow? :)

Janelle, did you see the TOP post? It's a place for everyone to add a comment. How's that? Hope your summer is great. I saw a tourist at Seaquarium wearing a Colorado shirt (the family was not from Colorado), and I thought of you! :) Enjoy the beauty of CO! I've never been!

Make sure you guys follow the space related links on the right side of the blog. You can even send your name to Mars! Read all about it. You have historical space information. Wednesday, 7/16 @ 8:02 am, the moon landing websited begins. At 6:03 pm, the shuttle is scheduled to launch. There's only 6 more shuttle launches for the rest of history! You'll be telling your kids and grandkids all about the shuttle, because it'll be over soon-FOREVER!

Oh, Janelle, if your mom, or you call the school, PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE WITH YOUR PHONE # and even your address if you can. You could also leave your e-mail address, but definitely, your #!!!!! That way, I would be able to call you back and get your other information. :) Heading out again. Hope you read this. I'm only going to be leaving comments on the top post for now-the one that tells us we have a meeting place. :) Enjoy. KIT.

Hello Everybody,

I spent much time finding cool space links for upcoming events: The Endeavor shuttle launch keeps getting delayed due to weather - follow it and you'll see the pictures of lightning hitting the pad! It's going to the ISS, so I provided extra links. Also, the anniversary of the moon landing is July 16! You can follow the web page live beginning at 8:02am! I added a link to send your name to Mars during the launch in 2011. You don't have 'til 2011 to add your name. Click to print the cool certificate. Enjoy your summer!

Hello, Marysol. You're right, it is only for Janelle, but I read it, too-who knows who else will?!? It's always great to have a place to write your thoughts and to connect with others who care about you. Make sure you still check in to say hi - you and everyone else- when you are grown fourth and fifth graders. I'm sure my new students would love to hear from you!

Janell left this comment on the "Happy Summer Vacation" post, but I'm trying to have everyone just leave comments here, so we are ALL ON THE SAME PAGE! lol It will be much easier instead of searching-right? Anyway, here's the posts and happy 40th anniversary of the moon landing! Can you believe it?

Hey, Janelle, you wrote on my birthday! I was interacting with a beluga whale! Is that cool, or what!? It was a surprise. I was just checking in this post to see if you're writing here-my goal is to get everyone to comment in one place, the 'write to your friends' place so we don't have to search to see who wrote and where. lol Did you see the nice note from Marysol? Make sure you don't type phone numbers here, but you can go to www.dadeschools.net, go to 'schools' click on 'j' for our school's name, get the phone #, and then you can call, or have your mom call. Ask them to take a message with you phone #, address, e-mail, or anything else you'd like to leave us. I'll make sure your friends get it. :) Keep in touch. Let us know how Colorado is and all the cool sites in nature you see. I'm sure you have different birds, insects, trees, etc. And you have MOUNTAINS! Anyway, I'm going to copy these posts to the top post, so make sure you respond there-okay? I shall chat with you later.

Hi, Welcome to fourth grade! Enjoy your year! Today is the anniversary of the invention of the telescope-400 years ago! Galileo was the inventor. The Franklin Institute. in Philly, will have his telescope and journals there! Can you believe it? It's the first time they've ever left Italy! The shuttle was scheduled to launch today, but was scrubbed. Keep informed. There's only 5 more launches and then the shuttle program will be retired forever. Enjoy your year. Do your best! Remember, you have fourth and fifth grade to set your mark for sixth grade! You want an EXCELLENT reputation! You have the world ahead of you. I look forward to hearing about all of the great things happening in your life!

Kevin, I had absolutely NO idea who you were. lol I'm glad you posted a comment. Laura forgot the password. lol She has it now, if she remembers. What do you think? Make sure you work hard this year. It is a very important year for you. It will get harder by the day, but well worth it. You will feel very proud based on all of your efforts. Remember to pay attention so that you can grow smarter by the MINUTE! How do you like that? Thanks for checking in. Make yourself proud...and of course, Mom, Dad, Grandma...and your teachers. :) ENJOY 4th grade-it was my favorite year!

Green Class said...

Janelle, here's a link for you. You can always send a letter to me and I'll pass it on to the girls. You never want to post your personal information. You can also call the school and just leave a message for me with your phone number and I can pass that on, too. From there, you can catch up with everyone from your own e-mail, phone number, and even address. Keep in touch. http://jis.dadeschools.net/ If this doesn't let you link, copy it and paste it to your menu bar...ask your mom to help if you need it and tell her hello from me.

Oh My Goodness, Janelle! I didn't see this! I can't believe we're hearing from you! :) Are you still in Colorado? Where are you? How's your mom and your family? I can't imagine how anyone could hate you. I hope you get this, too-sorry, it's 10 months late! Our new blog this year is, www.extremeteam1112.blogspot.com
My students picked the name. lol
So, you're 6th grade now? I just saw Marysol the other day. The kids here have to take the FCAT on the computer this year. Many of them miss the paper and pencil version. Things change in education and people are always trying to make it better. Tell us what you're learning, doing, and enjoying in your life. It's so good to hear from you. :)

Good Golly, Miss Molly! That's an old '50s saying. Can you tell? lol Actually, I think it's even a song. It is so great to keep hearing from you. I told Marysol in the hall (I'm a poet and didn't even know it) that you had written and I didn't see it because I hadn't gone on that section and I'm not so technologically inclined and didn't get a message heads up that you were there. I couldn't believe it. I wanted to pick up the phone and call you, but no info. lol And, I KNOW you don't give that out to anyone online, right? I can't believe you guys are 7th graders! I was just a 7th grader! lol Ask your parents, I will bet that they'll say the same. They probably can't believe that they have a 7th grade daughter! :) I'm also extremely glad to hear that your whole family has made so many friends. We were so disappointed four years ago when you didn't come back from spring break to go to the zoo with us. :( But Colorado is way more exciting than the zoo. lol How's your weather and fire hazards there? We hope all is well. If I get onto FB, I'll check. I know Natalie is on, don't know about Marysol. Those two girls still have the same fantastic heart on the inside. Yep, they were in 3rd grade bodies and no longer look like it. lol But, if you look into their eyes, you will see the same beautiful girls inside and out! The eyes are a window to the soul. I'm glad that your family is great. Keep up the good work. Only 5 years until you're a senior! Wow, 4 years already went by since we've all been together. Keep working hard. Remember, these next 5 years will help you set yourself up for the rest of your life! Most people don't even look at it that way. You've got 5 years to iron out any kinks you want and get serious so you can get a scholarship to anywhere! I showed my class a map that showed kids who read 65 minutes a day learn more words in a year than almost anyone else-over one million! They also score in the 90th percentile in testing such as HS SATs! Over 20 minutes daily reading wasn't bad either, but the 65 minutes had kids on the TOP OF THE CHART! So, read whatever and start scoring high. :) I just read a biography about a doctor. We read an interview with him in Highlights. He that he was lazy and liked TV and games. He said that he was consicered the class dummy in 5th. In 7th, he read only two books a week. He surprised the whole class when he knew things. By 12th grade-because he kept reading everyyear, he got a scholarship. He became a world famous surgeon and speaks around the world. Here, they made
a biography called, "Gifted Hands" about his life! I can't believe it. I read it and it wasn't bad for someone who's not an author. :) Well, falling asleep. Nite. KIT, DEFINATELY! Love ya.

Janelle said...

wow Miss Reed that was really long and I keep the reading in mind :) I wish that after they heard that I posted that they would post to but oh well maybe they will some day...
